William “Bill” Dickey To Pen Foreword for Inaugural
Edition of Who’s Who In Black Phoenix

Columbus, Ohio – Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s largest annual directory publisher targeting the African-American market, announced today that William “Bill” Dickey will pen the foreword for the inaugural edition of Who’s Who In Black Phoenix.

Dickey is founder of the Bill Dickey Scholarship Association (BDSA), formerly known as the National Minority Junior Golf Scholarship Association. The organization’s name was changed to the BDSA in 2006 in honor of Dickey’s tireless efforts to help young students pursue higher education. As president emeritus of the BDSA, Dickey encourages young people to pursue and achieve academic excellence and qualify for college scholarship through the sport of golf.

Who’s Who Publishing Company founder and CEO, C. Sunny Martin, affirms, “Bill Dickey’s lifelong dedication to helping others serves as an excellent example of what we seek to highlight through this publication. We are deeply honored to have him pen the foreword for this inaugural edition.”

Ron Ransom, associate publisher for Who’s Who In Black PhoenixTM, agrees, “Bill Dickey is one of the most unique individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting. He is a true leader in the community.”

Dickey is a life member and eight-time president of Desert Mashie Golf Club of Phoenix. He also served as area vice president and president for the Western States Golf Association (WSGA). Since 1984, through his efforts on behalf of the WSGA and as the catalyst for scores of financial contributions from numerous corporations, companies, organizations and individuals, Dickey has facilitated financial assistance of more than $3 million to more than 900 college and college-bound minority golfers.

Throughout his life, Dickey has received numerous awards in recognition of his selfless service to others, including the PGA Distinguished Service Award, the Tiger Woods Foundation Sharing and Caring Award, and the Martin Luther King “Share the Dream” Award. He has also been inducted into the WSGA Hall of Fame, the National Black Golf Hall of Fame, the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame and The African American Golfers Hall of Fame. Recently, The University of Maryland Eastern Shore presented him an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree.

Who’s Who Publishing Company began in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1989 and currently publishes similar annual directories in cities nationwide. The book will be available at bookstores in the Phoenix area.
