Dr. Juanita Sims Doty Named Associate Publisher for
Who’s Who In Black Mississippi

Columbus, Ohio – Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s largest annual directory publisher targeting the African-American market, ecstatically announces that Dr. Juanita Sims Doty will serve as the associate publisher of Who’s Who In Black Mississippi™, the historic, first statewide publication in the Who’s Who family. A Mississippi native, Doty is a fellow of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and also serves as senior advisor for outreach with the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development of the National Institutes of Health.

Doty’s exemplary work has earned her numerous awards and commendations, including the distinguished William T. Simpkins Community Service Award presented by the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing. Additionally, she has been published in several academic and educational journals.

Doty is also committed to making a difference in her community. She is currently south eastern regional director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., which encompasses Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, and also served as national program chair from 2002 to 2006. On the local and state level, she serves on the Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Mississippi Food Network, the board of directors of the Mississippi Head Start Association, and as a commissioner on Jackson State University’s $50 million Capital Campaign.

“With the state of Mississippi having a 37 percent African-American population, this will be a great way of documenting and spreading the good news about our people,” Doty shares. “Certainly, we want the world to know about the diversity of our outstanding talented Mississippians.”

Who’s Who president and CEO, C. Sunny Martin affirms, “Juanita Sims Doty has proven herself as a tremendous asset to the state of Mississippi in both her dedication to her field and her excitement for the community. We are incredibly pleased to have her on board as our Mississippi associate publisher, and I know that her passion will translate well into success.”

Who’s Who Publishing Company began in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1989 and currently publishes similar annual directories in 22 cities. Upon release, Who’s Who In Black Mississippi™ will retail in area bookstores and newsstands.
