WHO'S WHO IN BLACK LOUISVILLE™
PRESS RELEASES
Alice Houston to Write Foreword for
Second Edition
of Who’s Who In Black Louisville™
Columbus,
Ohio - With the successful launch of the inaugural edition
of Who’s Who In Black
Louisville™, which was unveiled March 6, 2007,
at the Muhammad Ali Center in front of a standing room only crowd
of more than 600 people, it’s no wonder there is great anticipation
and excitement for the release of the second edition.
To that end, Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s
largest annual directory publisher targeting the African-American
market, is proud to announce that Alice Houston has graciously agreed
to write the foreword for the second edition of Who’s
Who In Black Louisville™.
After a long and successful career at the University of Louisville,
Alice Houston left the University to join a family business, Johnson-Houston
Corporation. The family business flourished and through a series
of acquisitions and transactions, the combined entities became the
second-largest minority-owned company in the United States and the
largest minorityowned transportation company in North America. In
July of 2001, Houston divested her interest in the combined entities
to concentrate on developing Houston-Johnson, Inc., where she now
serves as president and CEO.
Houston is a former member of the board of directors of the National
Urban League. She currently serves on the boards of directors for
the Louisville Community Development Bank, The Muhammad Ali Center,
Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services, and the University of Louisville;
she is chair of Greater Louisville, Inc. (The Metro Chamber). Mark
your calendars for March 6, 2008, for the Unveiling Reception and
release of the second edition of Who’s Who In
Black Louisville™. The publication and unveiling
will pay special tribute to the late Kentucky Supreme Court Justice
William E. McAnulty Jr.
Who’s Who Publishing Company began in Atlanta, Georgia, in
1989 and currently publishes annual directories in 15 cities and
continues to grow. Who’s Who In Black Louisville™
