Wendy
M. Welch is President of ConnectWelch, a global leader in management
consulting, convention, conference, special events planning, fundraising
strategies and entertainment production firm based in Atlanta, Georgia.
She served as Chief Marketing Officer for Marsha & Associates,
a consulting company. As Chief Marketing Officer, Wendy was the
strategic advisor, executor and communicator of business marketing
initiatives, developed consumer stratagem for all import and export
commerce, negotiated account contracts and managed all corporate
symposiums and cultural events, brokered regional and national contracts
with government entities, designed business development analysis
of new market opportunities for Fortune 500 corporations.
Wendy was President of the Hawkins
Foundation and Executive Vice President of the Hawkins Food Group.
The Hawkins Food Group featured Burger King, Pizza Hut, Perkins
Family Restaurants and Sweet Georgia Brown with sales that exceeded
$212 million annually.
In addition to her responsibilities
with the Hawkins Food Group, she was President and Chief Operating
Officer of Advanced Educational Solutions, Inc., a corporation that
presents professional and career development seminars, executive
coaching, community and minority relations.
Wendy acted as Director of Special
Events for Career Communications Group, Inc., a $10 Million Dollar
multi-media corporation that presents The Black Engineer of the
Year Awards Conference and the Women of Color Technology Awards
and Symposia. Career Communications Group, Inc. produces magazines,
conferences and two nationally syndicated television series.
She is also well known in the advertising
industry as a professional voice over artist, a member of the American
Federation of Radio and Television Artist (AFTRA). Wendy's credits
include Oprah Winfrey's “The Wedding” and “Casper”
to name a few national ads and some of her local credits include
Saks Fifth Avenue, Winn Dixie, New York Life Insurance, and many
more.
Wendy is a consummate business woman,
community volunteer, and fundraiser. Wendy gives of her time and
talents unselfishly to some of her favorite charities, such as,
ChildKind, Inc., and Advocates for Children and Youth just to name
a few.
Whether she’s hosting a reception
for former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, or former Baltimore
Mayor Kurt Schmoke, Wendy’s dedication and commitment remains
the same, “to remain an intricate part of the growth and development
in the community in which she lives or has an affiliation”.
The success has afforded Wendy many luxuries, but more importantly,
it has given her an opportunity to practice the give back syndrome
repeatedly.
Wendy is a member of the Buckhead-Cascade
City Chapter of The Links, Inc. and the Democratic National Committee
Women’s Leadership Forum. She sits on the board of Women Looking
Ahead News Magazine, Cool Girls and, a member of the Alumni Association
of the Women of Color Technology Awards Conference. She is a former
board member of ChildKind, Inc., Gate City Day Nursery Association,
Advocates for Children and Youth (ACY) and Port Discovery Children’s
Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.
