Shirley R. Stancato to Pen Foreword
for
Third Edition of Who’s Who In Black Detroit®
Columbus,
Ohio – Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s
largest annual directory publisher targeting the African-American
market, proudly announces that Shirley R. Stancato will pen the
foreword for the third edition of Who’s Who In
Black Detroit®.
Stancato is president and chief executive officer of New Detroit,
southeastern Michigan’s only leadership coalition devoted
solely to race relations, serving as an essential forum for discussion
and advocacy of race relations issues. Under Stancato’s leadership,
New Detroit convenes a bi-annual regional leadership summit on race,
organizes an annual summer business camp for youth, conducts a yearly
multicultural leadership program, initiates a financial literacy
curriculum in local schools, and provides comprehensive technical
assistance for small nonprofit organizations in metropolitan Detroit.
Prior to joining New Detroit in 2000, Stancato’s career spanned
30 years at what is now Chase Bank, where she rose to the position
of senior vice president. A lifelong Detroiter, she earned bachelor’s
and master’s degrees from Wayne State University. She serves
on the boards of the Coleman A. Young Foundation, the JPMorgan Chase
National Community Advisory Board, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra,
the Detroit Zoological Commission, the United Way for Southeastern
Michigan, the Detroit Institute of Arts and St. John Health. Stancato
is also chair emeritus of Alternatives for Girls and past chair
of the boards of the Detroit Urban League and Operation ABLE of
Michigan.

Monica Morgan Named Associate Publisher
for
Who’s Who In Black Detroit®
Columbus,
Ohio – Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s
largest annual directory publisher targeting the African-American
market, proudly announces that Monica Morgan will serve as the associate
publisher of Who’s Who In Black Detroit®.
Morgan is one of Detroit’s most widely acclaimed photojournalists,
whose clientele includes Fortune 500 corporations such as DaimlerChrysler,
General Motors and Coca-Cola.
Though once a journalist, columnist and public relations specialist,
Morgan has enjoyed speaking through the camera for more than a decade.
From celebrity shots to corporate assignments, her instincts have
taken her throughout the world, with photographic travels to Spain,
Corsica, Germany, Sicily, Italy, France, England and Malta. She
captured the inaugural activities of Dominica’s late Prime
Minister Rosie Douglas, and the memorial services for Israel’s
former First Lady, Leah Rabin. She also covered the refugee camps
in Darfur, Sudan, as well as children with AIDs in Tanzania, Uganda
and Kenya.
Currently represented by Wireimage, Morgan’s work has appeared
internationally via Associated Press Worldwide and Newsweek-Japan.

and Edsel Ford calls her “the best.” Civil rights icon
Rosa Parks called her work “great,” and selected Morgan
to be her personal and official photographer.

people who were up and coming through my photography and articles
I wrote for various publications,” says Morgan. “Who’s

W. Frank Fountain to Pen Foreword for
Second Edition of
Who’s Who In Black Detroit®

Ohio – Following a successful inaugural edition in
2006, Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s largest
annual directory publisher targeting the African-American market,
proudly announces that W. Frank Fountain will pen the foreword for
the second edition of Who’s Who In Black Detroit®.
Fountain is the Senior Vice President of External Affairs and Public
Policy (Auburn Hills) for DaimlerChrysler Company, LLC.
Who’s Who Founder and CEO C. Sunny Martin shares, “We
are honored that Frank Fountain has graciously agreed to write the
foreword for Detroit’s second edition. His position at DaimlerChrysler
and within the community exemplifi es the type of leadership we
honor across the country.”

Fountain is responsible for maintaining and coordinating DaimlerChrysler’s
interface with state and local governments across the country. He
is also responsible for DaimlerChrysler’s community relations,
national education programs and the DaimlerChrysler Corporation
Fund, the company’s philanthropic organization, where he serves
as President.
Since joining the Chrysler Corporation in 1973 as an investment
analyst, Fountain has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility
in Chrysler’s corporate controller’s offi ce, treasurer’s
offi ce and government affairs offi ce in Washington, D.C.
Fountain is a member of many business and professional organizations
and serves on numerous boards. He holds a bachelor’s degree
in history and political science from Hampton University, an MBA
degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School,
an honorary doctorate of public service degree from Central Michigan
University, and an honorary doctorate of humanities from Eastern
Michigan University.

Inaugural Edition
of Who's Who In Black Detroit®
set for release
Columbus,
Ohio – Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s
largest annual directory publisher targeting the African-American
market, will release the highly anticipated inaugural edition of
Who’s Who In Black Detroit®,
October 16, 2006, at the Marriott Detroit Renaissance Center. A
networking reception will be held at Seldom Blues Restaurant from
6:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m., and the book Unveiling Reception will
take place at the Marriott Renaissance Center from 7:30 p.m. –
8:30 p.m. MIX 92.3 radio personality Frankie Darcell will serve
as mistress of ceremonies and entertainment will be provided by
Quarter to Midnite. More than 400 invited dignitaries and guests
are expected to share in the celebration.
With a foreword written by the Honorable Judge Damon Keith, the
coffee table-quality publication is more than 385 pages in length.
It offers readers pictures and historical and biographical data
on local leaders in the metropolitan Detroit area. This includes
some of Detroit’s Interesting Personalities, Most Influential,
Corporate Brass, Community Leaders, and many more. The book also
features a special tribute to the late Mayor Coleman A. Young.

Judge Damon J. Keith
Signs on to Pen Foreword
for New Who's Who In Black Detroit®
Book

Ohio – Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s
largest annual directory publisher targeting the African-American
market, proudly announces that United States Court of Appeals Judge
Damon J. Keith has signed on to write the foreword for the inaugural
edition of Who’s Who In Black Detroit®.
A highly distinguished member of the federal judiciary, Judge Keith
has consistently been a courageous defender of the constitutional
and civil rights of all people. His best known decision, United
States v. Sinclair, is referred to as the Keith Decision. The Supreme
Court unanimously affirmed Judge Keith’s decision in that
case, which prohibited President Nixon and the federal government
from engaging in warrantless wiretapping because it was in violation
of the Fourth Amendment.
Judge Keith has received over 40 honorary degrees from many colleges
and universities. In 1974, the Detroit Board of Education dedicated
one of its primary schools in his honor, naming it The Damon J.
Keith Elementary School.
In 2005, Judge Keith was honored to be a co-chair for the National
Victory Celebration for the Farewell to Mrs. Rosa Parks, organizing
the homegoing services for Mrs. Parks across the country. Judge
Keith was quoted as saying, “Mother Parks represents everything
that my legal and judicial career has stood for.”
