Julius L. Chambers Signs on to Pen
Foreword for
Inaugural Edition of Who’s Who In Black Charlotte™
Columbus,
Ohio – Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation’s
largest directory publisher targeting the African-American market,
announced today that Julius L. Chambers has signed on to write the
foreword for the inaugural edition of Who’s Who
In Black Charlotte™.
Chambers is a renowned lawyer who has contributed to the success
of landmark civil rights cases, most notably Swann v. Charlotte-Mecklenburg
Board of Education (1971), which led to federally mandated
busing in an effort to integrate public schools. His other benchmark
cases include Griggs v. Duke Power Co. (1971) and Albemarle
Paper Co. v. Moody (1974), which are two of the Supreme Court’s
most significant Title VII employment discrimination decisions.
A native of North Carolina, Chambers served as chancellor of his
alma mater, North Carolina Central University, from 1993 to 2001.
He is currently an attorney specializing in business matters, employment
discrimination, education and civil rights at Ferguson, Stein, Chambers,
Gresham & Sumter, P.A., a private law practice firm he started
in 1967.

Who’s Who Publishing Company began in Atlanta, Georgia, in

across the country. Other inaugural releases in 2008 include Los
Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C. The book will retail for
$24.95 and will be available at bookstores in the Charlotte area.

Who’s Who In Black Charlotte™
Columbus,
Ohio - Who’s Who Publishing Company proudly announces
that James McDuffie will join the Who’s Who family as associate
publisher of Who’s Who In Black Charlotte™.
An assistant vice president with a major financial institution,
McDuffie will work with Who’s Who Publishing corporate headquarters
to publish this informative directory, which is planned to debut
in Charlotte in 2008.
McDuffie brings to Who’s Who a diverse,
well-rounded background with previous experiences that range from
a software engineer to vice president of product management for
a Fortune 500 company and CFO and co-founder of enCompass Securities,
LLC. Additionally, he has international experience as a consultant,
which provided him with a global understanding of people, business,
and community. McDuffie is also the co-founder of Alex and Associates,
a local marketing company that has partnered with Who’s Who
Publishing to bring this historical publication to Charlotte, North
Carolina.
A native of Durham, North Carolina, McDuffie is a graduate of North
Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelor of Science degree
in electrical engineering. He is a member of the NC Triangle INROADS
Alumni Association, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the National
Society of Black Engineers, Mortgage Bankers Association and other
business and civic organizations. He devotes a portion of his time
to educating the community on financial management and home ownership.
