Edition will be a Night to Remember

Columbus, Ohio – All roads will lead to downtown Atlanta’s Hyatt Regency December 10th as Who’s Who In Black Atlanta® unveils its most highly anticipated edition yet: the 10th anniversary edition. The evening’s greatest highlight will be the announcement of the edition’s most popular and highly anticipated section, “Men of Distinction.” As a follow up to the very successful ninth edition, which focused on women, the 10th anniversary edition will focus on men. The multitalented playwright, director, producer and actor extraordinaire Tyler Perry will write the foreword. Special entertainment will be provided by Atlanta’s own mystical Five Men on a Stool, and the Trumpet Awards’ Xernona Clayton will emcee the event along with FOX 5’s Mark Hayes. To say that Publisher Yolanda Reynolds is excited about the upcoming edition is an understatement. “Atlanta has long been noted as the ‘Black Mecca,’ a place full of abundant opportunities for African Americans. With this edition, we are incredibly delighted to present a list of men from various walks of life who have achieved their own individual levels of success,” Reynolds states.

“The night’s event will be one not to be missed. In fact, I challenge the media to join us as we announce this list of prominent entrepreneurs and corporate executives who are excelling in their professions, loving and providing for their families, and contributing to their communities,” she adds. “This event offers poetic justice, particularly when the shortcomings of African-American men are often magnified.”

Additional features of the tenth edition include Atlanta’s Living Legends (such as Herman Russell, C.T. Vivian, Congressman John Lewis and Jesse Hill), a tribute to 100 Black Men, and tributes to the Tuskegee Airmen and Morehouse College. There will also be an Interesting Personalities section, which will feature eight of Atlanta’s most remarkable citizens. An added bonus is that there will be a “1,000 Books for 1,000 Kids” campaign, wherein special efforts will be made to assure that the books reach future leaders. “This campaign is an excellent strategy to inspire our youth to reach for the stars,” Reynolds adds. “I’m a firm believer in the concept that they can be what they see.”
