C.
Sunny Martin has defined his primary mission in life as making
a positive difference to enhance, uplift and expose the significant
achievements African-Americans have contributed to the growth
and development of America.
Mr. Martin is the CEO and founder
of Who’s Who Publishing Company, the nation's largest
annual directory publisher targeting influential and affluent
African-Americans. He has published over 50 books and is currently
publishing his brand of upscale “Who’s Who”
directories in 25 cities throughout America.
Sunny founded Who’s Who
Publishing Company in 1989 with a simple mission in mind to
highlight the positive achievements of African-Americans and
provide a valuable resource and networking guide for the entire
community. There are perhaps over 200 firms in America who
publish various “Who’s Who” directories
or titles. Mr. Martin’s company is the only African
American owned company in this crowded field.
His books are much different
than the typical Who’s Who books in that he includes
pictures along with biographical profiles of those featured.
Additionally, he markets advertising and sponsorships opportunities
to corporations and local firms who seek to promote diversity
and market their services or products to this influential
and affluent audience.
Mr. Martin has been a much sought
out guest on many national and local television and radio
programs for his high level networking expertise and skills.
His unique brand of directories are in great demand by local
business leaders, civic leaders, educators and other community
leaders.
Sunny has been been the recipient
of many honors and awards. Mr. Martin has been an invited
guest to the White House on three different occasions and
has been nominated as the Ohio Small Businessman of the Year
honoree by the NRCC which included a dinner with President
George W. Bush. Most recently Mr. Martin was named the 2006
“Man of the Year” by Women Looking Ahead Magazine
in Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, in February of 2004
former President Jimmy Carter held a reception in his honor
at the Carter Presidential Library in honor of his publishing
success in Atlanta, Georgia.
