In September of 2009, Governor Jennifer M. Granholm signed an executive order institutionalizing the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships (formally the Governor’s Office of Community and Faith-Based Initiatives) with Greg Roberts as the director. In this position, he is responsible for being the point person for Governor Granholm with faith/community leaders throughout the State of Michigan.

 Greg has dedicated his entire career to public service. Before accepting this appointment, he served as the district director for Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, deputy director for Wayne County’s Department of Community Justice, and director of Metropolitan Detroit Youth Foundation’s learning centers. He also helped create the Detroit Mentoring Center for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit.

 He has also mentored and been an inspiration to a number of young people for many years, and has worked with a myriad of community, faith and political leaders throughout his career and truly believes that “service is the rent you pay for the space you occupy.”

 Greg is a graduate of Central Michigan University and a proud father of four beautiful daughters.
